Revision!
Oh revision! How you had me worried! Oh wait….. That’s a lot of red. Really the revisions aren’t all that bad. Most pages look like this: That’s a lot less red. I started working on revisions on Monday, even though it was a holiday and that meant the kids were home which also means a lot less time to work. Even with a shortened work week, I’ve managed to make it all the way through chapter 12 which is well over halfway through the book. Not too shabby. I was certain this revision would take weeks to get through. I guess it helps that I’m putting in 8 –…

The Big Rewrite or My Self-Imposed Exile
It’s Friday! And it’s been a month since I’ve done a Friday post or any type of post at that. I began the big rewrite of my rough draft a month ago and it has completely taken over. The time I would devote to social media or writing a blog post, I’ve spent working on the rewrite instead. And I find that I’m okay with that. I enjoy the Twitter writing games but they aren’t as important as finishing the rewrite. I do miss the interaction with other people but there’s always time for that later. I’ve been withdrawing more and more in the afternoons and evenings to work…

Rough Draft Complete!
The rough draft is done! After working all day and writing approximately 6000 words I finally finished my rough draft last night. Just in time too since I set a goal of beginning to edit my already finished rough draft for this month. But for a few hours, I think I can just sit back and relax knowing that I worked through enough plot problems to at least finish a rough draft.

Coaxing the Words Out
It’s the first full week back to work for me and I was so ready to be back. I intended to write a post filled with links and advice on how to get back into the swing of things after a break. But after my own dismal attempts last week and this weekend to add anything to my current WIP – I gave up on that.

Back To Work
It’s snowy and cold here. It’s also the first day back to school after winter break for the kids and my first full day back to work since the 23rd of December!! *deep breath* I had hoped I would be a workhorse over the break but little did I remember how chaotic winter break can be. I managed at whopping 3079 words from 12/23 – 1/4. *takes another deep breath to calm the growing anxiety about going so long without working*

Post Nanowrimo
Oh boy! It’s been a little over a week since the end of Nano and it’s been quiet on my end. I’d like to think the month was a big success this year even with the stress of being sick not once last month but twice. That coupled with Thanksgiving was enough to put a dent in my word count. But I ended November victorious! 61,396 words! That is a new personal record.

Nanowrimo Update.
A quick Nanowrimo Update: I have finished the rough draft of the book I’ve been working on! Woo Hoo! Since Oct. 28 I’ve added a total of 51,700 words to the rough draft. I’m sitting on 41,411 words for Nano itself so I have a bit of a way to go until I can say I win. Since I need to sit on the rough draft for about a month so I can look at it with fresh eyes it’s on to book 2! I have a general idea for this book in the series but I know enough about how I’m going to start it so I can at…

Nano Update
Just a very quick Nanowrimo update: Up until yesterday everything was going very well and I passed the 25k word mark on day 7! Then I woke up with a sore throat on day 8 and it got progressively worse as the day went on. The good news is I did my duty and got out to vote yesterday. The bad news is by the time I was done my eyes were burning and it was hard to breath easily with my nose stopped up and my word count suffered drastically yesterday for it. Only about 345 words were written yesterday so bleh. Definitely not as good as my 6100…
