Release Day!
Birdsong and Bone is out!
Oh my goodness! I can’t believe book 2 is out in the world today! It’s been a trying month this last month but it paid off in the end.
My arm is on the mend, book 2 is out, and now I can focus on book 3 a little more.
I’ll be candid right now – the rough draft for book 3 was supposed to be done by the end of this month. That’s not going to happen and I’m frankly having a horrible bit of anxiety over it. I can get about thirty minutes of typing in before my hand cramps horribly from my brace. Unfortunately, taking the brace off isn’t an option. I had hoped that I’d build up some sort of hand endurance but that didn’t happen either. Writing long hand didn’t pan out like I would have liked.
But even with the anxiety of not being able to work 60 hour weeks like I prefer when writing a book I did manage to format and polish book 2. So today is a happy day and not a day to reflect on everything that hasn’t happened. I need to remember to enjoy what has happened.
I guess that is going to be my take away from this release day: Enjoy what has happened. Don’t let the other stuff cloud the absolute joy I had when writing Birdsong and Bone. Bramble and Blood felt like pulling teeth sometimes when I was trying to get the story out but Birdsong and Bone just flowed out with minimal hiccups. It was a bit of writing nirvana I suppose and it was the fastest book I ever wrote. Fingers crossed that I’ll be blessed when it comes to getting book 3 written once the dang brace is off!
Have a wonderful weekend!
