    Camp Nano update and #Revpit

Holy watering, burning eyes Batman!  Wouldn’t you know it?  The first beautiful weekend and I’m afflicted with some sort of cold/allergy thing.  At least I didn’t start feeling really sick until I was done scrambling to get ready for #Revpit and submitting to it. Which kind of leads me to Camp Nano and my abysmal performance for this camp so far. I first heard about #Revpit on Monday- I wasn’t planning on submitting; I was just going to stick to my plan of getting more beta readers for my Entangle manuscript and spending all of April and May finishing a new rough draft. After some hemming and hawing Tuesday and…

April Camp Nano and Other Happenings

Oh geez.  It’s been a while since I last posted.  Between finishing up initial revisions to get my book ready for beta readers and everyday life, there hasn’t been much to report.  But I suppose I should do a post just so it appears I’m not dead.  Besides, I need to document that I’ve been busy these last couple of months. First up, revisions!  I spent a good chunk of time going through and revising my book, Entangle.  I wanted to get it polished up enough to have initial beta readers give it a go.  I set a deadline for myself to have it out for betas on my birthday…

    Nanowrimo Update.

A quick Nanowrimo Update:  I have finished the rough draft of the book I’ve been working on!  Woo Hoo!  Since Oct. 28 I’ve added a total of 51,700 words to the rough draft. I’m sitting on 41,411 words for Nano itself so I have a bit of a way to go until I can say I win.  Since I need to sit on the rough draft for about a month so I can look at it with fresh eyes it’s on to book 2!  I have a general idea for this book in the series but I know enough about how I’m going to start it so I can at…

    Nano Update

Just a very quick Nanowrimo update:  Up until yesterday everything was going very well and I passed the 25k word mark on day 7!  Then I woke up with a sore throat on day 8 and it got progressively worse as the day went on.  The good news is I did my duty and got out to vote yesterday.  The bad news is by the time I was done my eyes were burning and it was hard to breath easily with my nose stopped up and my word count suffered drastically yesterday for it.  Only about 345 words were written yesterday so bleh.  Definitely not as good as my 6100…

    Friday!

Yay!  It’s Friday and day 4 of Nanowrimo!  So far so good for me this Nano but I don’t want to jinx it so I won’t put into words just how awesome and great I feel like this week has been going.  Or, you know, more words than I just did. Tomorrow, Saturday, November 5th is Double up Donation day for Nanowrimo.  It’s a day that encourages you to double your daily or total Nano word count and to also double up your donations to the site.  There will be virtual write-ins and word prompts all day long and a chance to win awesome prizes all day long on the…

    Nanowrimo!

Just a quick update for the first day of Nanowrimo.  After several fantastically successful writing days at the end of October of course November first had to give me fits.  But I’m pleased with how the day turned out after such a rocky start.  I’m going to end the day with a final first day word count of 5,803.  Not too shabby.  I believe it’s the best start I’ve ever had and I’m fairly confident in saying that most of those words were not terrible.  Any day I can say that is a great writing day.
