Book Three and Other Updates!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything to the blog or social media, but that is a good thing as far as writing goes. I wanted to give a quick update on the state of book three/the series in general so far.
Oh book three, book three…..
It’s been giving me fits. An example: most books in my genre run 65k-95k words. So far in April, I have written 90k words on book three and 60k of those have been trashed.
I wrote 30k towards book three and decided it was garbage and wasn’t telling the story I wanted to tell so I started over. I wrote another 30k words and the same thing happened. But I’m finally at a good place and on the right track. At least I’d better be because my deadline to finish is May 30th for the rough draft since that is the last day of school for my kids.
Fingers crossed, I’m hoping for a mid/late summer release of book three. I’d love to have it out sooner, but I have a lot of plotlines to deal with in book three and several to set in motion for book four. And I’m absolutely unwilling to publish a book that I’m not 100% happy with, so if it takes longer, so be it. I refuse to publish something that isn’t up to par.
On another note: On top of writing books three and four, I’m hoping to write a short story set before Bramble and Blood and get that out sometime this summer as well. I’ll be offering it for free for newsletter signups, but I’ll be sending it to everyone who is already a recipient of my newsletter. It will only be available digitally but sometime in the future I’d like to publish a volume of short stories set in the Eve Williams universe and offer it in paperback.
That’s all for the update for now. I have a book to go write!

I can’t wait to find out what happens next! This would be the perfect summer read. As long as I don’t have to wait a year for the next installment in happy. Thanks for the update. Sending positive vibes your way so no more work is trashed. ☺☺

Thanks for the positive vibes! I think I’m over the trashing stage, thank goodness, and I’m now in the final stretch of the rough draft. It will be done within the next two weeks for sure, if not sooner. Don’t worry, you won’t have to wait a year, lol. I’m fairly certain I’m looking at a late summer release for book three which gives plenty of time for the rewrites and multiple editing phases it will have to go through. I’d like to release sooner, but with the school year ending, I’ll have littles at home that will need some of my attention 🙂
