Accountability

Accountability Friday but on a Saturday!  Sorry about that.  Friday was a hectic day that ended with me playing nursemaid and being generally exhausted.  A good chunk of the evening was spent watching episode of the Office before I even got to work on my book.

This past week wasn’t the most productive writing wise.  Everyone was home on Monday for Labor Day and I was battling illness the rest of the week.  But here’s a bit of the break down from over the last week:

9/03/2016 – 9/05/2016 : Chapter Three Editing.  (Chapter Three was about the end of me.  I wanted to chuck something across the room about halfway through the second day of working on it.  Nothing I did felt right.  I’ve never been happier to be done with a chapter.)

9/05/2016 : I also managed to finish the edit of Chapter Four today as well.

9/06/2016 : Chapter Five and Six edited

9/07/2016 : After getting to chapter six the previous day, I made a decision that it doesn’t feel like the first book in a series.  I’ve waffled back and forth about this for the last 6-7 months.  I have a partial rough draft for a book that precedes this one and I decided to go back and take a look at it today.  I had a hard time with it when I first started writing and pretty much gave up on it.  But rereading what I already have, it really isn’t that bad.  I think I just got to the point of doubt that I get to in every story and instead of working through it like I should I gave up.  I started the rewrite of Chapter one to see how it goes.  I felt especially ill in the afternoon on this day so a good chunk of the day was spent reading and laying down.

9/08/2016 : Worked on chapter one again.  Doctor’s appointment cut the work day short but I almost finished the rewrite in the evening.

9/09/2016 : Nursemaid day.  I spent most of the morning prepping for spending time in the waiting room.  My goal was to finish chapter one’s rewrite while there.  My time in the waiting room was much shorter than I thought.  Playing at nurse is a lot more work than one would think so I barely finished the rewrite of chapter one Friday night and completely missed the accountability post.

Looking back the week was more productive than I had thought.  I’m really hoping to dig in this next week and make some real progress on the rewrite.
